Guided By ABE is charitable giving concept. It's as simple as that.

ABE was originally created by and for Bicycle Theory – a graphic design, Web development, and brand strategy company based in Minneapolis. As a local business (and as individuals), we (BT) understand and appreciate both the privilege and responsibility of supporting the communities we live, work, and play in. Unfortunately, we don't have endless riches and have to make tough decisions about the causes and initiatives that we can afford to support. So the question for us became, ‘how do we figure that out?’


After much deliberation and profound thinking, ABE was born. In our infinite wisdom, we broke it down like this:

• We work in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District
• We ride our bikes to work (and everywhere else we can)
• We all believe that a clean, healthy planet is preferable to dirty, dying one

So, we support causes and initiatives that benefit one or more of 3 core principles – the Arts, Bikes, and the Environment.

Now, we don't all live and work in the same place or live the same way, but the true beauty of this concept is that each of these things can be supported locally all over the world. So whether you embrace ABE completely, or simply include him in your decision making process, your contributions actually help make the world a better place.
